Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Symposium 2018

Registration is open for the Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Symposium, which will be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center on May 21-22. The event will include presentations, networking opportunities, and an exhibit hall.

Presentation topics include:

  • Selected Ethical Issues Concerning Patients with Brain Injuries
  • Spinal Cord Injury Research: Dental Pulp Stem Cell Therapy and Osteoporosis
  • Legal and Medicinal Considerations for Medical Marijuana
  • Safe Patient Handling and Mobility Needs in ICU, Acute, and Rehab Settings
  • Targeted Muscle Reinnervation in Upper Extremity Amputees
  • Judicious Use of Opioids in Trauma Rehabilitation
  • Overcoming Financial Barriers to Care

» Of special interest to those who provide telehealth services, David Ivers, JD, will present the Arkansas Telemedicine Act and Professional Uses for Telemedicine.

The 2018 symposium is sponsored by the Arkansas Department of Health, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Center for Distance Health, and the Arkansas Trauma Rehabilitation Program. Continuing education credit is available.

Since 2010, the South Central Telehealth Resource Center (SCTRC) has been providing telehealth training and technical assistance. We offer a wide variety of services and resources to help develop, maintain, and expand telehealth services. While we strive to help anyone reaching out to us for assistance, we prioritize the needs of those who work with rural and other underserved communities and populations in our region — Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee. The SCTRC offers in-person and virtual assistance including on-site demos at our regional telehealth training centers, and popular online resources here such as billing and reimbursement guides, beginner courses, a variety of webinars and recordings, podcasts, and more.
