A Telehealth Technology Summit (#TTS18) is planned for December 12 – 13 at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. #TTS18 will feature a technology showcase hosted by the National Telehealth Technology Assessment Center (TTAC). The showcase provides an opportunity for conference attendees to interact with a variety of telemedicine peripherals.
Throughout the event, attendees will participate in hands-on demonstrations led by TTAC Director, Doris Barta, and Telehealth Technology Specialist, Jordan Berg.
Barta states, “The Showcase is designed for participant interaction. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss technology with individuals who are new to telehealth or planning an expansion to their current program.”

TTAC, located in Anchorage, Alaska, offers a variety of services in the area of technology assessment and assists consumers with selecting appropriate technologies for their telehealth program. The TTAC website (telehealthtechnology.org) provides free toolkits for recently assessed products and apps.
According to Berg, “Selecting the right equipment is a process that considers the needs and goals of your telemedicine program. Technology assessment includes consideration of the ability of users, types of services, and costs. In New Orleans, we will walk participants through a seven-step process designed to assess technological needs of any telemedicine program.”

The summit is a collaborative effort of HRSA-funded Telehealth Resource Centers, including Southeastern Telehealth Resource Center, South Central Telehealth Resource Center, Heartland Telehealth Resource Center, TexLa Telehealth Resource Center, and the National Telehealth Resource Center for Technology Assessment.
