Speaker Information

Call for Abstracts Now Closed

The South Central Telehealth Resource Center is soliciting abstracts for panel presentations as well as posters for two great events:

  • 4th Annual South Central Telehealth Forum (SCTF)
  • American Conference on Telemedicine (ACT) | Research Symposium

The submission period is December 10, 2015 through February 10, 2016. Abstracts are due no later than midnight February 10, 2016.  Submissions should be made via this ABSTRACT SUBMISSION.  If you have any questions, please email info@learntelehealth.org.

  • Limited to 250 words
  • Must be exclusive to the conference with no former presentation of abstract
  • Abstracts written to promote a product, company, or service will NOT be considered.
  • Jury of peers will review and select abstracts for presentations based on the scoring guidelines provided below
  • Must be received by midnight (12 AM CST) February 10th, 2016.
  • Notifications will be sent by March 10, 2016.
  • Focus areas:
    • On the body/ wearable technology
    • Telemedicine in unique populations
    • mHealth
    • Measuring quality
    • Reimbursement

Scoring Guidelines

  1. Merit
    – Will such a discussion add value to the conference?
    – Will such a discussion address quality in telemedicine?
    – Will such a discussion offer new knowledge to conference attendees?
    – Will such a discussion present findings, strategies, and outcomes that may translate to other telemedicine initiatives?
  2. Clarity
    – Does the abstract clearly, concisely, and logically convey the intent of the presentation and support the title, background, objectives, and conclusions?
  3. Innovation
    – Will such a discussion be timely and relevant to the activities, initiatives, or direction of telemedicine?
    – Will such a discussion cover one or more of the stated focus areas?
  4. Non-Promotional/Commercial in Nature
  5. Will such a discussion be educational and non-commercial?

Important Information

Podium presentations

  • If you are selected for a podium presentation, please keep in mind sessions are 55 minutes long.
  • Presentations may be a single presentation or a panel of presentations.
  • If selected for a podium presentation, your total speaking time allotment will be provided to you in advance.
  • Conference registration fees will be waived for podium presenters.

Poster presentations

  • If you are selected for a poster presentation, you must be present with your poster through the duration of the poster session.
  • Posters must remain in place until the conclusion of the session.
  • A discounted conference rate will be offered to poster presenters.

Upon notification of acceptance, you will have two weeks to confirm participation in the conference.

Podium presenters will have four weeks to provide the conference planners with necessary items such as a digital photo, brief bio, presentation outline or slides, non-disclosure forms, and other items as needed.
