TeleBehavioral Health 2025: Telehealth and TeleBehavioral/TeleMental Health Policy Update

TeleBehavioral Health 2025: Training Series is a free twelve-part webinar series open to anyone providing services to individuals who live with mental health and substance use issues. This Zoom-based series takes place the third Friday of each month, January through December 2025, from 11 am – 12 pm (PT). You are invited to attend all webinars, but you will need to register for each webinar separately.

Overview: Ms. Kwong will provide an overview and update on post-public health emergency policy impacting the provision of and reimbursement for telebehavioral health services. Presenter: Mei Wa Kwong, JD, Executive Director for the Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP) Biography: Mei Wa Kwong, JD has over two decades of experience in state and federal policy work. She is the Executive Director for the Center for Connected Health Policy (CCHP), the federally designated National Telehealth Policy Resource Center. She has written numerous policy briefs, crafted state legislation and led several coalition efforts on a variety of issues.  Ms. Kwong has published articles on telehealth policy, is recognized as an expert in her field and has been consulted by state and federal lawmakers on telehealth legislation and policy. Ms. Kwong is a graduate of the George Washington University Law School.

Learning Objectives: This talk will provide a current status of the telehealth policy landscape. Attendees will learn: 1. About the current status of temporary federal telehealth waivers 2. What significant telehealth policy changes may be seen in 2024 3. What telehealth policy issues state policymakers may focus on this year
