Lessons Learned Implementing Tele-behavioral Health Programs in Rural Indiana

Join this session to hear from a telehealth program spanning 5 rural providers in Indiana utilizing telehealth, focusing on the need for tele-behavioral healthcare, to increase access to care in rural mental health professional shortage areas. This presentation will review the necessary equipment to set up services, how to choose software, discuss security measures, and staff training. General billing codes, the collaborative care model, screening tools, and other clinical considerations will also be reviewed. Funded through HRSA, this program conducted evaluations of patient utilization of the services between September 2018 and December 2021. Results of the data collected, and lessons learned will be shared with attendees.

Since 2010, the South Central Telehealth Resource Center (SCTRC) has been providing telehealth training and technical assistance. We offer a wide variety of services and resources to help develop, maintain, and expand telehealth services. While we strive to help anyone reaching out to us for assistance, we prioritize the needs of those who work with rural and other underserved communities and populations in our region — Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
