The South Central Region Virtual Visit Billing Guides have been updated with the most recent payor changes. Below is this announcement's most recent updates, or click on any state to go directly to that state's guide.
Highlights:
There were very limited updates in May, as most payors are awaiting to see if the COVID-19 Federal Public Health Emergency (PHE) will be renewed past July 20th, 2021. The only payor publishing an update was Aeta, who clarified that telehealth will be covered within the capitation agreement, similar to an in-office visit.
Furthermore, BCBS Tennessee and Tennessee Medicaid does have their current telehealth flexibilities set to end June 30th,2021, however they have not published an update regarding a possible extension, and therefore we will be closely monitoring in June.
These guides were created to save you time and intended to provide overall information and education about virtual visits, however due to the volume of information in these guides, it can be difficult for healthcare providers to decipher the best workflow for their particular situation. If you would like some support in a plan, please reach out to us and we would be glad to discuss how we can help!
