FMSB: Navigating the Responsible and Ethical Incorporation of Artificial Intelligence into Clinical Practice

This report from the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB) summarizes expert opinion and proceedings which provide recommendations on the responsible and ethical adoption of AI into clinical practice. Recommendations are centered on (1) education, (2) emphasizing human accountability, (3) ensuring informed consent and data privacy, (4) proactively addressing responsibility and liability concerns, (5) collaborating with experts, and (6) anchoring AI
governance in ethical principles.

Since 2010, the South Central Telehealth Resource Center (SCTRC) has been providing telehealth training and technical assistance. We offer a wide variety of services and resources to help develop, maintain, and expand telehealth services. While we strive to help anyone reaching out to us for assistance, we prioritize the needs of those who work with rural and other underserved communities and populations in our region — Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee.
