There are many people that we come in contact with during our relatively short time on earth. If we are blessed, some folks will change our life forever in a positive and impactful way. Adam Rule was one of those individuals. His big smile and pleasant demeanor made him an easy person to get to know. I am always amazed at the number of people’s lives he has touched. Even today, I was in a meeting and Adam was mentioned. They stated how they worked with him ‘way back then’ and what a great person he was.
Adam’s legacy will not be forgotten because of his impact in health care and telehealth care in Arkansas and nationwide. The past 4 years he was the Program Director for the South Central Telehealth Resource Center and inspired many creative initiatives to explain telehealth to the masses and to expand its use for rural and remote residents. We celebrate Adam’s life and all his accomplishments, but we are saddened that he will not be here with us anymore. He lost his courageous battle with cancer yesterday. Our team is focusing on what Adam has done and trying not to focus on what we have lost. Adam said it best when he talked at the Adam Rule Telehealth Training Center Dedication:
Meet Adam: “What is possible?”
For those of you who knew and loved Adam, we wanted to share his story and the details related to his services. As a team, we send our love and prayers to his wife and four boys.
As one of the members of the National Telehealth Resource Center group put it yesterday, “Adam was the original Telehealth Ninja.”
