A Bonanza of Telehealth Videos

A Bonanza of Telehealth videosNo, this isn’t where you’ll find the best clips from Lorne Green, Michael Landon and Dan “Hoss” Blocker. But this is where you can find a bonanza of useful telehealth videos from LearnTelehealth.org and other great sources around the world. After viewing these videos, I’m sure you’ll agree that a 3 minute video can sometimes have more impact than a 50 minute lecture from the best expert in the world.

Bookmark this page so you can refer back and share it with others using the share links on this page. Of course you can always visit our Media page to peruse our 50+ original productions and presentations. I’m including a few from other sites that we consider excellent.

Keep in mind, all these videos were made to be shared. You can share this page or right-click on any video to copy the source URL. Don’t see your favorite video on this list? Leave the link in the comments section below to share with others.

I begin with an absolute must-watch. This is from Korogocho, Kenya, one of the largest slum neighborhoods in Kenya. There are 200,000 people pressed into 1.5 square kilometers. This amazing story shows the impact that mobile phones and simple text messaging can play in improving maternal-child health in a third world country. Watch it to see their dream for a clinic that could transform the health in their community. I hope this one impacts your day in a positive way.

Next is our popular video, “Jennifer’s Story, A Telemedicine Tale,” that spawned a few imitators and a few right-out copy-cats! It’s still one of the best, most effective ways to explain telehealth.

Here’s a brand-new one  that our video producer, Brian Lee, recently produced. More of a stylistic piece that would appeal to the artist in you.

Here’s one I found recently from San Francisco. It shows how telemedicine is impacting an urban HIV treatment clinic. From the UCSF School of Medicine. Interesting to see how telemedicine plays a big role in a big urban center.

The subject here is school-based telemedicine. Our friends in rural North Carolina at My Health E-Schools produced this. Steve North, MD leads this project. Show this one to teachers, school nurses and school board administrators.

Here’s a great example of primary care utilizing traditional telemedicine equipment as well as tablets and home-based gear. This one shows a wide range of uses from a small, budget-conscience firm. From West County Health Centers in California.

This video highlights Clark County Hospital, a  rural critical access hospital in Iowa. This is a great video to show stubborn administrators who doubt telehealth’s effectiveness.

I end with another explainer video from LearnTelehealth.org. This one on mHealth. MHealth is gaining popularity in improving access to care and health information.
