Each month, the South Central Telehealth Resource Center spotlights a member of our Advisory Council. We are fortunate to have individuals from a variety of backgrounds in various industries related to Telehealth. Each member has unique talents that contribute to the promotion of Telehealth in Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi. While those who focus on this industry are very forward focused, one of our members takes the time to look backwards as well.
Mr. Ray Hanley is the President and Chief Executive Office at the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care. He’s also the author of 18 history books. When he and his brother began collecting postcards, they didn’t realize it would turn into decades of collecting culminating in several books on the subject. His historical works include A Journey Through Arkansas Historic U.S. Highway 67 (Images of America), Wish You Were Here: Arkansas Postcard Past 1900-1925, and Little Rock: Then and Now. There is no question that Mr. Hanley takes a deep interest in Arkansas.
As if his work in publishing the history of Arkansas wasn’t enough, he has 30 years of experience in the public and private health sectors with a deep interest in quality improvement. Mr. Hanley is a past chairman of the National Association of State Medicaid Directors and the Arkansas Sierra Club. Capturing the history and beauty of the Natural State while promoting the health and welfare of its residents is only one of the many reasons we are proud to have Mr. Hanley as a member of our Advisory Council.
