SUMMARY:SEARCH2017 - Telehealth Research Symposium
DESCRIPTION:SEARCH2017 invites connected health researchers\, academicians\, innovators\, and policymakers to join in structured and open discussions of telemedicine research\, findings\, and priorities. SEARCH2017 seeks to both share findings and foster research partnerships among researchers and organizations that wish to define and develop the field of connected health research. \nThis one and one-half day event sets out to advance evidence-based research which proves the benefit of connected health systems.  SEARCH2017 is presented by the newly-formed Society for Education and the Advancement of Research in Connected Health (SEARCH) and by the South Central Telehealth Resource Center and immediately follows the MATRC2017 Telehealth Summit on April 3-4. SUMMARY:MATRC 2017 Telehealth Summit: Quality and Innovation in Health Care
DESCRIPTION:How do we reduce costs and increase value\, improve patients’ experiences and outcomes\, apply and integrate new technologies into clinical practice\, and create greater access to quality healthcare? These goals require us to focus on both quality and innovation at the same time\, but can we have both? Quality involves adherence to standards\, application of best practices and the elimination of errors. Innovation on the other hand requires creativity. It demands a willingness to try new ideas and to experiment with out of the box thinking. It requires resources devoted to projects that have not been tested and may or may not succeed. Telehealth technologies offer the promise of improving what we are currently doing\, but also opens the door for finding new and better ways to do it. What does continuous quality and process improvement look like in telehealth? How can we be successful combining innovation with quality improvement? How do we manage new ideas\, effectively test them\, develop processes to evaluate them and establish mechanisms for continuous quality monitoring?
