The SCTRC has just been refunded to continue providing our excellent telehealth educational materials, resources, and hands-on training!

As a part of the HRSA Telehealth Resource Center Program, that supports regional and national telehealth resource centers, the South Central Telehealth Resource Center has received a $1.3 million, four-year grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to implement and expand digital health services.

The grant will award $325,000 in funding each year through 2029 and will support our ongoing efforts to develop, maintain and expand digital health services and training for health care providers across Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.

The South Central Telehealth Resource Center provides technical assistance, workforce training and evidence-based resources to equip health care organizations, providers and stakeholders with the knowledge and tools they need to implement and expand digital health services. Support is primarily offered on-demand through the center’s website, LearnTelehealth.org, and through individualized assistance. We also creates patient-focused materials to facilitate digital health consults, remote patient monitoring and in-home device use to ensure accessibility and engagement in virtual care. Among our resources are virtual visit billing and reimbursement guides, regional policy updates, educational modules, webinars, and so much more!

The SCTRC has been continuously funded by the HRSA Office for Advancement of Telehealth since 2010 and is one of 12 centers in the HRSA-backed National Consortium of Telehealth Resource Centers. We works collaboratively with other centers, along with UAMS, HRSA and other national and regional partners, and maintains five satellite training centers in Arkansas and Tennessee.

The purpose of the dentistry learning community model (DLCM) is to provide patient case-based information to pediatric dentists, general dentists, and nurses practicing in rural communities. In a needs assessment survey of rural Mississippi dentists, education in pediatric dentistry was a high priority area of need identified by the participants. The DLCM will enhance the care capabilities of rural dentists nd nurses by focusing on a major disease burden – childhood dental caries. Health care providers (dentists and nurses) need to be aware of current best practices for enhancing the care capabilities of rural dentists and nurses by focusing on a major disease burden.

During the session, HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program and Pediatric Mental Health Care Access Program grantees will discuss barriers to access mental health and substance use disorder services as well as share insights into their funded projects and efforts to enhance behavioral health within their Hispanic/Latino communities.

Who is eligible?

There are two types of eligible applicants:

1. Competing Continuation Applicants: Eligible “competing continuation” applicants are entities that received a Licensure Portability Grant Program award in Fiscal Year 2019 and with a period of performance ending by June 30, 2024 who seek to continue the funded project.
2. New Applicants: Eligible applicants are state professional licensing boards including but not limited to organizations that are in consortia with, or associations of, state licensing boards that cooperate to develop and implement state policies that will reduce statutory and regulatory barriers to telehealth.

Behavioral Health Integration (BHI) Evidence Based Telehealth Network Program (EB-TNP)

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to integrate behavioral health services into primary care settings using telehealth technology. HRSA will award approximately $8.75 million to up to 25 grantees over a period of five years.

Who is eligible?
Eligible applicants shall be domestic public or private, non-profit, or for-profit entities that demonstrate they will provide services through a telehealth network. This includes faith-based, tribal, and community-based organizations. Please view the funding opportunity on grants.gov for complete eligibility information.

When are applications due?
The application is due March 22, 2024.
