DESCRIPTION:Program Overview\nThe purpose of the dentistry learning community model (DLCM) is to provide patient case-based information to pediatric dentists\, general dentists\, and nurses practicing in rural communities. In a needs assessment survey of rural Mississippi dentists\, education in pediatric dentistry was a high priority area of need identified by the participants. The DLCM will enhance the care capabilities of rural dentists nd nurses by focusing on a major disease burden – childhood dental caries. Health care providers (dentists and nurses) need to be aware of current best practices for enhancing the care capabilities of rural dentists and nurses by focusing on a major disease burden. \nTopics Covered\n\nPragmatic Oral Surgery for the General Dentist\nDiagnosing Oral Cancer\nDigital Workflow in Restorative Dentistry\n\nTarget Audience\n\nDentists\nPediatric Dentists\nDental Assistants\nDental Hygienists\nPrimary Care Providers\nNurses\n\nAccreditation Information\nDentists/ Dental Assistants/ Dental Hygienists—The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. SUMMARY:UMMC & Hometown Pediatric Dermatology - ECHO Series
DESCRIPTION:Overview: This project aims to improve the treatment of pediatric skin conditions including eczema\, acne\, birthmarks\, warts\, and other pediatric skin diseases with the intended target audience of rural healthcare providers in the Upper Midwest.  Since over 30% of visits to primary care for children\, a skin-related complaint is noted\, and for nearly 60% of those patients\, it is their chief complaint; this ECHO aims to expand expertise for pediatricians\, family medicine physicians\, and APPs in assessing and treating pediatric skin conditions. Primary care professionals join board-certified pediatric dermatologists to discuss best practices and evidence-based approaches to pediatric skin disease and create an ongoing learning collaborative to empower primary care clinicians to deliver high-quality skin disease treatment. Each session consists of a mini-lecture followed by a discussion of attendee-provided patient cases with a pediatric dermatologist. Early access to expert care saves lives\, reduces healthcare costs\, and improves access to care for children and teens.  There are fewer than 400 board-certified\, practicing pediatric dermatologists in the United States\, with zero in Montana\, North Dakota\, or South Dakota; and one in Idaho and Wyoming\, in some states\, such as Minnesota\, Wisconsin\, Iowa\, and Michigan there are a few pediatric dermatologists\, but they are clustered in urban areas.  The distances are often too far for families to reasonably travel to seek specialty care\, given the size of the states and the challenges with winter weather (which lasts for up to 6 months per year). \nTopics Covered \n\nAtopic Dermatitis\nTopical treatments for pediatric and adolescent acne\nSeborrheic Dermatitis\nMolluscum Contagiosum\nMoles and Sun Protection\nImpetigo\n\nLink: https://iecho.org/public/program/PRGM1701792008640ZWOPNQ6LUA \nTarget Audience: Pediatric and Family Primary care clinicians\, nurses or other interested healthcare providers in areas with limited pediatric dermatology access across the Upper Midwest. There is no geographic restriction for participation. \nCommunity Clinicians will get CME/CEU in a virtual learning network through the University of Mississippi Medical Center. \nThe planners and speaker for today have no relevant financial relationships to disclose.

SUMMARY:Telehealth at Yet Another Crossroads: Analysis of Our Present and Potential Futures
DESCRIPTION:In this 1-hour webinar\, four telehealth experts will review recent developments in the telehealth regulatory landscape and discuss ways in which these developments are advancing or restricting telehealth innovation and implementation. The discussion will focus on developments in three specific policy domains: changes in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule for 2025 and prior years\, the recently released DEA and SAMHSA prescription drug/controlled substance policy statements\, and the pandemic-related federal flexibilities that are set to expire on March 31 unless Congress takes action. We will review the status of current policy in these areas and discuss how recent and pending changes are set to impact telehealth programs across the country. \nPresented by: \nJonathan Neufeld\, PhD – Program Director & Principal Investigator\, Great Plains Telehealth Resource & Assistance Center \nKaren Rheuban\, MD – Medical Director\, Office of Telemedicine\, Center for Telehealth\, University of Virginia \nSaif Khairat Nicki Perisho\, RN – Program Director\, Northwest Regional Telehealth Resource Center

SUMMARY:DEA Telehealth Flexibilities for Prescribing Controlled Substances: What Practitioners Need to Know
DESCRIPTION:As telehealth continues to shape the future of health care\, providers must stay informed about evolving regulations\, particularly those governing the remote prescribing of controlled substances. This webinar will provide an overview of the current and upcoming DEA telehealth flexibilities for prescribing Schedule II-V controlled substances\, including a specific policy for prescribing buprenorphine to treat opioid use disorder that goes into effect March 21. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of when these rules go into effect\, when they expire\, and how they impact telehealth practice. \n  \nJoin us for this timely discussion with Lydia Kotowski as we break down key policy updates and what they mean for telehealth providers.
