The Rural Health Information Hub (RHIhub) has launched a new toolkit aiming to support organization implementing mental health programs in rural communities. The Mental Health in Rural Communities Toolkit compiles evidence-based and promising models and resources.

There are many modules within the toolkit that contain resources and information focused on developing, implementing, evaluating, and sustaining rural mental health programs. The toolkit modules include:

  • Introduction: Overview of mental health in the U.S. and unique challenges that rural communities face.
  • Program Models: Models for mental health programs.
  • Program Clearinghouse: Examples of promising mental health programs that have been implemented in rural communities.
  • Implementation: Important issues to consider and address when implementing a rural mental health program.
  • Evaluation: Tools that can help with the evaluation of a mental health program.
  • Funding & Sustainability: Resources to help with planning for the sustainability of a mental health program.
  • Dissemination: Ideas and resources for disseminating findings from a mental health program.
