The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) were recently awarded $600,000 grants and recognized as national Telehealth Centers of Excellence by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. As the only two national Telehealth Centers of Excellence in the U.S., the awards recognize each academic institution’s role in expanding the footprint of telehealth. The recipients have the opportunity for an additional $2 million over the next two years.
The South Central Telehealth Resource Center congratulates both academic institutions and looks forward to collaborating with them in the future.
