Sunday, March 1st:Pre-Conference Workshops. Space is limited so you MUST pre-register. Each pre-conference workshop is $45/person in addition to the conference registration fee.

IMPORTANT! Pre-Conference Workshops are available to conference attendees. Each workshop is $45/person and is additional to the conference registration fee. Sessions are concurrent therefore participants may only register for one workshop.

Workshop 1: Telehealth & Telepresenting Fundamentals

Workshop 2: Developing a Statewide Telemedicine Program

Presented by the South Central Telehealth Resource Center and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences Center for Distance Health, this highly engaging beginner level workshop is to introduce you to the world of telehealth and equip you with tools to begin the planning phase for your telehealth project. Topics will include:
  • Learn common telehealth terminology
  • Review potential applications of telehealth
  • Get your hands on telehealth equipment
  • See how the technology works through a live demonstration

This comprehensive workshop provides students with a detailed overview on how to create a statewide telemedicine program. Using the Arkansas Hand Trauma program--the first in the nation–as a model, we will discuss personnel requirements, technical considerations, administrative requirements and lessons learned. We will also discuss steps in creating a statewide image repository and how Arkansas statewide trauma system utilizes it as a major resource for treating trauma patients.
